Little darling" Titanic Fly Ensemble." ( NO DOLL). Made to order

My Little Darling Amelia, has been watching the old love stories on tv again. This time it was the TITANIC. We sat there and watched it for 4 hours. Well, knowing how she loves those fancy clothes, I was just waiting for the question! Yep ,here it was. Amelia said “mom , I really love that blue silk and velvet "fly dress" that Rose wore. Can you make one for me please! Oh My, I thought! Here is the finished ensemble, (my version) custom made just for her! I'm so glad this little girl is so easy to please! LOL!


The Flying Dress

Rose wore this costume during the famous bow kiss scene and in a few scenes prior to that. It is affectionately called the Flying Dress, as Rose pretends to be Flying while she is standing on the bow with Jack.
This costume has a prim yet dreamy quality to it. It was the perfect costume for Rose to wear when she chose Jack over her society life and was the ideal costume for the bow kiss scene.

The dress is really very elegant!! It is made from beautiful royal blue silk cotton and velvet. The style is 1900 . I made it as a one piece. The attached antique lace bodice is attached to the velvet [ lined in white ] jacket with collar, and [lined in white] sleeves with silk cuffs. The front of the jacket has little panels of embroidered flowers, side peplums of silk lined velvet with hanging tassels . Pleated cummerbund snaps in the back. The skirt has an underskirt of embroidered floral at the bottom hemline and a ruched skirt attached over it. I thought I was done, Oh no! Little Amelia wanted a big picture hat to match with tulle and lots of feathers! The girl loves dressing up lol! The Hat is made from silk and lined in white, with lots of feathers.

A custom made "Titanic " necklace completes the ensemble. All seams are finished or serged.
