Crafted by hand in our studio, this top whorl drop spindle features hand cut Poplar hard wood, with a lightweight, perfectly balanced feel. The wood was hand sanded to smooth perfection and carefully polished with our Silken Spindle all natural non-toxic wood balm.

This spindle is perfect for spinning all types of fibers and rovings into yarn. The simple design and durable wood material of this spindle make it a great tool for beginners and students just learning how to handspin yarn on a drop spindle.

This spindle would also make the perfect gift for the hand spinner in your life! It is perfectly sized to fit into a bag or purse to take your spinning on the go!

The spindle quality it’s self is excellent but I’m thoroughly disappointed with the fiber that came with the kit. It’s sold as a beginner kit and for twice the price of the spinal you get a piece of fiber that’s slightly long enough to teach someone how to make a leader to get started spinning and then have to use other fiber to actually spin yarn and practice. I could have paid half as much as the extra cost for the “kit” version on a beautiful hand died bfl from my favorite Etsy shop and my student would have had 4 ounces of fiber to make a full skein. Definitely not worth the extra $ for the kit.
