Nightingale Forest Hat and Cowl Knitting Pattern: Tree Cable Knit Beanie with Folded Brim (PDF Pattern)

The Nightingale Forest Hat and Cowl is inspired by a Russian fairytale based in a wintery forest. Two pines framed with subtle cables are designed on the front and back of the hat and cowl. A doubled folded brim on the hat is sure to keep one warm on the coldest of days, and the cowl fits as a floppy neck warmer to keep out the chilly air. This design is romantic and whimsical.

This intermediate pattern set features 3 sizes and options to customize fit (slouch vs fitted). Toddler, Child and Adult sizes are included in this 2-for-1 pattern.

*Hat circumference fits with ~3-4” negative ease

120, 130, 140 for hat (220, 230, 240 for cowl) yards bulky yarn (cat. 5)*
US 10/6mm 16” circular needles (for hat)
US 10/6mm 20-24” circular needles (for cowl)
US 10/6mm double pointed needles (to decrease)
US 10.5/7mm 16” circular needles (optional)
Cable needle (or dpn)
Large eye blunt needle

Faux Fur Pompom (optional)
