HOW TO PRINT YOUR SIGN:
Option 1: Print at Staples (Recommended), Kinkos, OfficeMax, or similar office supply store near you. They can usually print it same day or overnight. Most places allow you to choose cardstock, poster board, or photo paper. You can either order the poster through their website then pick it up later, or go in person to order. They usually have very friendly helpful people on staff that don’t mind your questions and can guide you with best choices for printing your poster.
Option 2: If you have a great printer at home, you can DIY. Most home printers will have a “poster” or “tile” setting that allows you to print the large file over many 8.5x11 sheets of paper. Then you simply trim off the non printed edges (if your printer does not print to the edge) and tape the back of the sheets together to make one large poster.
Option 3: Use an online printer (like shortrunposters.com, www.overnightprints.com, www.vistaprint.com, or similar) and get your printed poster in a few days in the mail. You will also have the option to have the poster mounted to a sturdy backing or framed for your wall.

GETTING YOUR PROTEST SIGN READY FOR A MARCH:
The idea is keep your sign sturdy but not make it so that it is too heavy to carry. Ideally you would want it to survive the march and be able to use it again. You can find sturdy backing like posterboard or foam core from an art supply store, craft store like Michaels, or office supply store like Staples. Adhere your poster to the backing with spray glue, elmers glue, or heavy duty double sided tape. You can carry your poster as is, or attach a handle to hold it high. The best stick to use is a long flat wooden 36” ruler that you can find at a hardware store. Alternatively 36" strips of balsa wood can be found at craft or hardware stores. Tape two or three of them together to make it sturdy. If you can find long enough section of a cardboard box, you could cut it into two long 3 inch strips and ducttape them together to make a light pole. Or, a sturdy inside role of wrapping paper. Slip the handle inbetween the printed poster and backing before you adhere them together.
