This oval cameo features a beautifully detailed profile of a mother cradling a child, ultrasonically carved into high-quality black agate. The two-layer construction of the cameo allows the carver to highlight its design details with subtle gradations of color. Mount a single cameo into a bezel and finish the pendant with a long bead chain for a modern look or a snake or link chain for a traditional look. Combine larger cameo sizes with smaller, complementary cameo designs to create more complex or themed jewelry and sets. Ultrasonic carving ensures that the details are exact from one cameo to the next, making them ideal for creating repeatable designs for your product line.

Cameo-quality banded agate is selectively mined to produce cameo carvings and dyed to smooth and deepen the dark color. Smooth, even white banding gives the carver (or ultrasonic carving equipment) plenty of design material to work with in capturing the finest details and contours in these designs. The black color of the agate provides a dark, contrasting background that highlights these details.
