Mother Tree: Poems for Mothers Ancestral, Earthen & Embodied

This handmade booklet contains poetry I've written over the past three years, and it is illustrated with black-and-white drawings from antique books. The cover is printed on pearlescent card-stock, and 25% cotton paper holds the words within. The booklets are printed, folded, and stapled by me, so each one is slightly unique.

The 13 poems seed, sprout, and die back into the ground, with four chapters organizing them: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Imagery from the Earth forms the spine of the poetry, with themes about how we are mirrored and inspired by the natural world weaving throughout.

It is titled after a dear weeping Hemlock named "Mother Tree", and the compilation is mostly inspired by my own mother, who has often encouraged me to publish my poetry. So, the poems herein are dedicated to the archetype of the Mother- the force which births and supports us: those embodied, ancestral grandmothers, and the Earth herself in many forms.

A beautiful, portable book to take with you for a meditative reflection in the forest. A thoughtful Mother's Day or birthday present for a special friend who nurtures you and also is inspired by the Earth and her prose.
