This Seder Plate and Matza Box set makes the most beautiful Passover gift or the perfect addition to enhance your Seder table!
The Passover Seder is one of the highlights of the Jewish holiday traditions. The Seder Plate is the focal point of the Seder dinner. It bears the ceremonial foods around which the Seder is based: matzah, the zeroa, egg, bitter herbs, charoset paste, and karpas vegetable. Every item on the Seder plate abounds in meaning and allusion.
The seder plate design with a combination of wood and ceramics was something I always dreamed of creating. Finally, I had the courage to try it out and prepare this modern Passover Plate and ceramic bowl set. I love the way these two materials combine beautifully to create this set.
The base of the Seder Plate is round and made out of natural bamboo wood. It has a laser wood burning with the Hebrew words for Pesach Seder Plate. The set arrives with 6 porcelain bowls, each with a unique colorful design of the symbolic foods of the Seder and their names in Hebrew. Each illustration was especially hand-sketched for this Pesach Plate set.
Matza Box:
The inner side of the matza box is engraved with many different words that are common on Pesach and that are directly related to the holiday. The Dots that have been placed in between the words and phrases symbolize the little holes in the matza, which are meant to remind us of the matza.
Amid the words that are common on Passover are:
פסח (Pesach); מצות (Matzas / unleavened bread); סדר הגדה של פסח (The order of the Pesach Seder); יציאת מצרים (The Exodus from Egypt) and מה נשתנה הלילה הזה (Why is this night different from all other nights?)
On the four outer sides of the box, you will find a beautiful inscription directly related to Pesach. It reads as follows:
מצה זו שאנו אוכלים על שום מה, על שום שלא הספיק בצקם של אבותינו
להחמיץ עד שנגלה עליהם מלך מלכי המלכים הקדוש ברוך הוא וגאלם.
שנאמר: ויאפו את הבצק אשר הוציאו ממצרים עגת מצות כי לא חמץ
כי גרשו ממצרים ולא יכלו להתמהמה וגם צדה לא עשו להם
Which translates to:
"This unleavened bread that we eat, what does it signify? Because the dough of our fathers did not have time to leaven before The King of Kings, Blessed be He, revealed himself to them and redeemed them. As it said: And they baked unleavened bread from the dough which they brought out of Egypt. For it was not leavened, because they were driven out of Egypt and could not delay; for neither had they prepared themselves any food for their journey".
