- Excellent open pollination variety, with big, medium green fruits.
- Staple food in SE & NE Asia.
- Approximately 8 ~ 10 inches long and ~3 inches in diameter.
- Do best in warm to hot areas. Do not transplant too early, wait at least 2-3 weeks after last frost.
- Trellis support is a must, or use chain-link fence, meshed wire, nylon bean nets.
- Leaves are also harvested for Southeast Asian delicacy.
- Mature in about 70 days after transplant. Harvest fruits within three weeks of flowering, before fruit skin color turning orange.

germination tips:
- scarify seeds by clip off the side edge a bit without damaging the zygote,
- then soak seeds in 120F warm water for 30 minutes to wake up seeds from dormancy, best to use a tumbler to maintain temperature consistency
- (optional) place seeds in moist paper towel, fold it & place in a ziplock poly. Rest the poly bag on heating mat (or use reptile incubator or grow tent)
- use fine starter mix & place cell packs tray on heating mat set at 85F & cover with humidity dome to ensure decent germination rate. Most seeds should germinate within 5-7 days but some laggers may take few extra days.
Direct outdoor sowing is NOT recommended, unless your overnight low temperature is consistently above 60F. May take several weeks to sprout and low germination rate is expected.
