How to prevent from Rust

Oiling a Damascus Steel Blade can give it a rich luster that do justice to its natural, gorgeous pattern. * Do not store in leather sheath long term (longer than a month). it can result in blade staining due to absorbent nature of leather. *If storing in leather. It is recommended you prep the blade, wrap it in plastic wrap it in plastic wrap then insert the knife in the sheath. *Please avoid using dishwasher for any of the Damascus blades.

Damascus Steel and High Carbon Steel Sharpening Instructions

General Guidelines Clean the Blade: Ensure the blade is free of dirt and debris before sharpening. Use a Honing Rod or Whetstone: These tools are best for maintaining sharpness and edge precision. Maintain the Angle: Sharpen at a consistent angle—typically 15-20 degrees for knives and 25-30 degrees for axes and swords. Lubricate the Stone: Apply water or honing oil to prevent overheating and metal buildup.

General Care Keep Dry: Always dry your blade thoroughly after use. Damascus steel is prone to rust if left wet. Oil Regularly: Apply a thin layer of food-safe mineral oil after cleaning to prevent rust and corrosion. Avoid Prolonged Moisture Exposure: Do not leave your blade in damp environments for extended periods. Use with Care: Damascus steel is durable but should not be used for tasks outside its intended purpose. Cleaning Wash by Hand: Use warm, soapy water and a soft sponge to clean the blade. Avoid harsh detergents or dishwashers. Dry Immediately: Wipe the blade dry with a clean towel right after washing. Polish Occasionally: Use a soft cloth to polish the blade and preserve its natural patterns.
