The Gypsy Vest is a perfect transition piece to create when you are learning to nuno felt. It seems everyone begins with scarves, or shawls and, after a time, want to learn more challenging pieces of clothing. The gypsy vest is created flat, which makes it a natural transition. You can put ties on the sides so it can double as a shoulder wrap, or stitch up the sides and put ties in the front to wear it as a vest.

Materials required include:

3 yards 36" wide silk chiffon (8mm),
4 oz merino roving (hand painted roving is nice)
10 yards bulky hand spun art yarn
six small jewelry toggles (use only the round part of the toggle)
