Neoregelia 'Royal Burgundy' is a cute and showy small grower with fairly wide glossy burgundy red leaves, spotted with lime green spots. It has short stolons and forms nice clusters suitable for a hanging pot or basket. The plant only looks compact when grown "hard", meaning brightest light and no fertilizer. A hit with vivariums!
➽They get greener if cultivated in the shade and redder if they get more sunlight.
➫You will receive One Neoregelia 'Royal Burgundy' pup, which is a fresh offset of another bromeliad plant, they are currently growing in 1-gallon pots. The plant will be shipped bare-rooted and well protected to withstand transport.
🍀The pup cutting is sent with moss to help keep them moist, so please don't think they are fallen roots that have disconnected from the plant.
Mature Plant or Offset - What's the difference?
Mature plants are established plants with a root system, usually full grown or almost full grown to their maximum capable size.
An offset is a shoot that develops at the base of the plant, rooting to form a new plant identical to its parent. Also called a "pup". Most offsets have less color than mature plants and may or may not have roots. An offset or cutting will also vary, depending on the variety of plants, but will always be ‘ready enough’ to be easily rooted and grown. We follow the basic bromeliad rule for cutting pups which is cutting them off when they are at least half the size of the mother plant. Smaller stoloniferous offsets are good for terrariums. Since offsets cost less than a mature plant, they are recommended for those who want to grow them up to mature plants themselves.
Average size: 10" to 12” Tall and 7" to 9” Wide.
