1960s Matching Handbag and High Heels set....made from WATER BUFFALO !

*provenance* This came from a Savannah Georgia estate. The woman's husband served in Vietnam in the 1960s and while there he had several leather purses and high heels custom made for her! No size indicated, but I wear a size 7.5/8 and they fit me perfectly

They are really beautiful!

Handbag measures 14" long, 8.5" tall (not including handles), 3" deep.

Condition: Overall they are in good, wearable, vintage condition. Both purse and heels are clean. The high heels are in excellent vintage condition with only minor wear, mostly to the soles. The purse is strong and sturdy, but has wear to the edges, corners, and bottom and some surface scratches throughout. The purse may have been used more frequently than the high heels bc the purse has more wear and is slightly lighter in color. Examine photographs closely.

Judging from the color and pores in the leather, I was told they are made from WATER BUFFALO, but I am not an expert and can not confirm. But water buffalo makes the most sense since they are from Vietnam where water buffalo are very present.
