Bulk Raw Honey / 48oz / Kansas City

We keep bees using natural beekeeping practices in the Kansas City Metro. This honey is raw, minimally filtered, sustainable and delicious! We live in an urban populated area that is set against the Little Blue River, local forests, and prairie. The honey tastes as complex as its surroundings! Although our honey varies in flavor based on the season it's harvested in and the year, our honey is generally dark, nutty and complex. You'll get 48oz of honey in a mason jar. JAR STYLES MAY VARY!

Most of the honey sold in stores has been heated and pasteurized. This processing destroys many of the enzymes and beneficial compounds that make raw honey so nutritious. Pasteurized honey often looks clear and syrupy. Raw honey has not been treated with high heat and is completely left in its natural state and therefore contains pollen, enzymes, antioxidants and many other beneficial compounds. The nutrient content of raw honey varies, but a 1-ounce serving contains very small amounts of folate as well as vitamins B2, C, B6, B5 and B3. Minerals include calcium, copper, iodine, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, potassium, selenium, sodium and zinc. Neat!

Raw honey will crystallize sooner than pasteurized honey. This doesn't affect the flavor, safety, or health benefits - it's perfectly good to eat once it gets crunchy. If you don't like the texture, simply put it in a barely-simmering water bath until the crystals melt.

Honey varies in color depending on what the bees are foraging! Aren't bees so cool!?
