Chalk Paint is a non-toxic and non-flammable water based paint that has not been tested on animals. Chalk Paint has been independently tested and certified as Toy Safe according to strict European regulations (BS EN 71-3:2013). The furniture I have painted is safe for use in children’s bedrooms.

What is Hand Painted Shabbychic Furniture?

The furniture that I purchase is either second hand, vintage or antique and normally has age related marks, scratches, splits and sometimes even woodworm. All the pieces have some sort of history, which I love to either preserve or fix before painting. All the furniture pieces are hand painted, so brushstrokes, paint drips, textured layers and the original wood colour, will be noticeable. This is my unique way of painting, you are certainly purchasing a ‘one-off’, as no two items are ever the same. All Chalk Painted pieces, are finished with either clear wax, varnish or chalk paint waxer to seal the paint. Certain pieces are also finished with white wax, black wax or dark brown wax to create an aged patina and to enhance textures.

How do I look after my hand painted furniture?

Once your furiture is in situ, please take care not to damage or scratch the piece through negligence. Here are a few pointers to help keep your furniture good as new: *Painted furniture needs 30days to fully cure, so please handle with care till then. *Clean surfaces with a lint free cloth. *Avoid chemicals, polish and anything abrasive. *Use coasters, placemats on surfaces, as watermarks, red wine, hot plates and cups will leave marks. *Avoid placing your furniture in extreme hot and cold places, as this will effect the paint and possibly warp the furniture.

What about damaged furniture, returns and refunds?

I accept returns of items that arrive back in the same condition as bought. Such items must be dispatched for return within 3 days of you receiving the item. Repair charges will be incurred for items that are returned in a lesser condition than when sent out. Buyers assume responsibility for condition of items from receipt of delivery until the item arrives at my workshop.

Do you take on commission work?

Yes I do... I love working with clients to create the perfect painted piece for your home. With 8years of experience in this field, you are certainly in safe hands. The idea, with painting a piece of furniture, is to bring it back to life for it to be re-used and re-loved, instead of it being a burden and not fitting in with your home and decor. Everyone has a piece of furniture either passed down in the family or a piece that you have had stored away but feel it just doesn't fit in with your home and lifestyle. BESPOKE SIDEBOARD DRINKS CABINET

This black sideboard/drinks cabinet is certainly a striking piece. I sourced the sideboard and hand painted the piece in Annie Sloan Athenian Black and sealed with polyvine matt wax/varnish. I applied the wallpaper to give it a modern look and sealed it for durability.

Ideal for a drinks cabinet and perfect to display in your hallway, dining room, lounge, kitchen/diner.
