Open a window each day to reveal a quote from the Philosopher and a different tea bag to suit their ideas. The intent of this Advent Calendar is to offer a way to celebrate the essence of good cheer during the days of December in a different and thoughtful way by bringing together some of the world’s most interesting and influential thinkers. I hope this calendar will be the starting point for an exploration of the philosophies of each person, looking more deeply into their ideas and, thereby, into your own.

The artwork is an original creation displaying both Men and Women Philosophers from around the world in a snowy Alpine Christmas scene. The tea is from the Eastern Shore Tea Company, local to the Maryland region. A guide to all meanings, symbols and Easter eggs will be available Jan 1, 2021 or can be purchased as an accompaniment. A list of all the teas can be a surprise or can be found at the bottom of this description. Once the Calendar arrives it is ready to go, no assembly required.

I have attempted to ensure the quotes and art are inclusive and palatable to all, but it is imperfect and not foolproof as neither is my knowledge of philosophy nor the nature of philosophy. Limited by space, there are many philosophers that certainly deserve a spot that I was unable to incorporate. There are many hints and symbols in the art that hint at unconventional forms of philosophy that I hope helps fill the gap and offers intrigue.
