1.Space out the numbers on the wall, using masking tape to temporarily hold them in place. HINT- the predrilled holes typically are lined up horizontally

2.Once you're satisfied with the placement, predrill the screw holes.

3.Now remove the numbers from the wall, and fasten with screws through the number and spacers, using the holes you just drilled to locate the numbers.
Voila! You're finished installing the house numbers.

The house numbers are made from Aluminum composite material. If you look closely on the edge, you'll see there are 2 outer layers of shiny material, which is the aluminum(which is a metal). This aluminum is painted, and designed to stand up to the elements. In between them is a layer of plastic. This material is used north america wide in the sign industry, and is rated for outdoor use. So while they are light in weight, this is not necessarily indicative of the quality. There are actually several advantages to being light in weight
1- They are easy and economical to ship. saving you money
2- Should they ever fall, being light in weight they are much less likely to damage anything (or anybody) they fall onto
3. Will Not Rust

Unfortunately, I don't recommend the peel and stick option for brick walls. It may work for the small numbers, but usually brick is just too rough for the peel and stick to adhere properly. If you want to mount them without screws, I recommend using a construction adhesive like PL 400 or Gorilla Construction Adhesive. The Gorilla Construction Adhesive comes in a caulking tube or in 2.5 oz toothpaste type tubes at your local hardware or building suppy. Just put several dabs on the back of the number, tape in place for about 24 hrs and its done. You can either use this in combination with the peel and stick, or order the screw option and leave a note to omit the holes.

The numbers and letters can vary slightly in height and width, even if you order all the same height. This is because font designers usually make digits with curves on top or bottom to be taller. It helps them appear more uniform visually and is not a defect. However sometimes this can make them appear larger or smaller than the digit beside it.
