Gorgeous, highly detailed and expertly tailored ladies riding jacket is a custom made, one of a kind item
Bears the internationally recognized SHOW SEASON of Scottsdale, AZ label
additionally bears the signature of maker in script which seems to say S LAVERS ? or S. Lavens ?
This is also labeled Dry Clean only due to the special fabrics and embellishments
I believe the outer shell is a raw silk of a gorgeous deep green color. I cannot find a fabric label, so this is an educated guess that it is silk.
There is a stunning thick & wide rainbow colored stripe ribbon of a more natural fabric feel, or a cotton blend, more likely.
The ribbon also has metallic gold accent thread woven in the colors.
The sleeve ends also has the Western Point trim and is embellished with a silver color concho on cuff with dangling native american style beading details
The back side is fabulous with a large rainbow trim Western Vee and a Concho with beading details
The front is a one button closure like a bolero, matador or waistcoat style. There is an extra fabric covered replacement button sewn inside.
Fully lined inside with an exquisite heavy, satin feel fabric of liquid sheen.
The height of Santa Fe or Albuquerque Western couture. Lady horsewomen of Southwest and Mexico would be thrilled to own this piece.
Condition is excellent except for one pull apart in fabric on back side high on one shoulder. It can be worn as is, or a small repair can be made.
There is a fabric under the separation, so when it does pull you won't notice as the fabric is close to matching the outer shell. All the threads are intact.
Other than that, the jacket is just perfect. Appears to have not seen much use. No stains and all beading embellishments have surprisingly survived.
Not sure of era, the label has been around for decades. This style of label seems to match other items from the 80s or 90s by this label.
The shoulders do have padding in them for great structure. No size labeled as custom made, but you should be petite and on small side.
I am a Med and can only get the jacket on, no way I can button it. It is tight on me in arms, so not comfortable to even wear open.
My best guess would be a XS or perhaps this was even a jacket for a Junior rider? In any case, the best look is buttoned to acheive the nipped waist look.
PLEASE USE MEASUREMENTS BELOW to determine if this will fit. I do not care for returns and they should never be necessary if you know your size.
CHEST 34" pit to pit is 17.5" but you should allow the extra inch for movement with a 34" size chest
LENGTH (back side to lowest V point in center) 20.5" note crop style
SLEEVE shoulder to cuff end: 25" please note slightly longer sleeve for the petite measurements of jacket
SHOULDER to shoulder across- 14.5" (front) 15" back side
