In a method akin to the Japanese tradition of Shou Sugi Ban, our teak offerings have been charred by torch up to five times. This process carbonizes the surface and seals the wood, leaving a sleek contemporary black finish, while the natural character of the wood's organic surface resonates beneath.

A round solid piece of charred teak suitable for use as a side table or stool.

Charred Teak Wood.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
While we go to great lengths to seal these pieces with multiple coats of lacquer, the potential for charcoal to transfer onto other surfaces may occur, namely on the sides and bottom (the tops receive extra coatings to prevent this). While we've received almost no complaints about the dozens of units sold, please note that charred wood is inherently brittle, so we cannot fully guarantee transfer will not happen the more charred the piece, the great the possibility of transfer. It is always recommended to separate the bottom of the piece from other surfaces with felt padding of the like.

CARE:
Hand-wash with warm water. The potential for charcoal to transfer exists. Prevent direct contact with upholstery and floor coverings.
