Add protection in your mask with a pocket for removable filters! Works well in ANY mask that has a pocket for added filteration. These are made from one layer of permeable/breathable cotton and one layer of cloth infused with activated charcoal. Approximately 6"x4" (these are handmade and may vary slightly). You can order a special size (ie: child size - approx 5"x3") by making a note in the personalization box.

These filters offer an added double layer of protection. Charcoal is the charred product from pyrolyzing (burning) wood. Charcoal is a porous material that can burn or adsorb pollutants. Activated charcoal is charcoal which has been specially processed to have a very high surface area - allowing more dust and pollutants to stick to the surface as it passes through. We have used them in our masks for dust and allergy prevention.
The charcoal side should be the first layer to filter out particulates, so the white side is closest to your face.

INSERTING your Filter: Fold your filter in 3 (as pictured) and insert into your mask pocket (it's a little slit at the top of the mask near your nose). Unfold inside with the BLACK side facing out, white toward your face.

We suggest you use a filter for a week for occasional use, then put in the sun for a couple hours or HAND wash with detergent or machine wash on Delicate cycle in warm water and hang dry or iron (BLACK SIDE DOWN). If you're using them every day for work, it's recommended to change the filter every day. In which case it's good to have some backup filters while the used ones are being cleansed.
