This Museum Collection gobelin cushion cover shows a Coat of Arms with the motto "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense, a French maxim used as the motto of the British chivalric Order of the Garter. It is translated as "May he be shamed who thinks badly of it" or "Shame be to him who thinks evil of it" or "Evil (or shame) be to him that evil thinks"[3]—although the French phrase is not gendered. In current French usage, it may be used ironically to insinuate the presence of a hidden agenda or a conflict of interest

This cushion is woven in Belgium on a jacquard loom. It is lined with a beige cotton backing and closes with a hidden zipper. The gobelin quality is obtained by a denser, thicker weft and as such is somewhat heavier than the regular tapestry quality.

Size is 45x45 cms (18'x18'). We advise an inner of 50x50 cms (20'x20'), because we like our cushion covers well filled. Please note that this offer does not include the inner.
