My work explores the malleable nature of memory formation and recall, depicting slightly ambiguous narratives characterized by omission, distortion, and hyperbole. This image was made in the tumultuous wake of the 2016 election; for me, it reflects a yearning/mourning for loved ones with whom my connection felt strained to a breaking point, due to a widening and increasingly un-ignorable chasm that separated our worldviews. Everyone knows what it's like to miss someone.

All imagery is rendered by hand, incorporating traditional intaglio techniques of mezzotint, aquatint, toner wash, and lots of scraping and burnishing. Executed in oil-based etching inks on ivory Fabriano Rosaspina paper, this work was hand-pulled from a single copper plate using my Conrad etching press. The fourth and fifth images show the inking and printing process for reference -- the copper printing plate is not for sale.

This impression is part of a limited edition of 50. Prints are signed and numbered in pencil along the bottom margin. Sold and shipped unframed, your purchase will be carefully packaged either rolled or flat (depending on size and quantity) and usually shipped on or before the soonest Saturday. If you choose the "+ mat" purchasing option, the print will arrive mounted into 14x14-inch mat with a circular window-cutout, which can be popped into any standard 14x14" frame.
