This is a fine art print of "Tranquil Grove" an original acrylic ink painting by Olga Cuttell (originally done on watercolor paper). It's been printed on Epson Hot Press Natural fine art archival paper in 5x7, 8x10, 11x14, 16x20 and now 24x30 inch sizes. It is no coincidence that these are all standard sizes, as Oladesign is committed to helping its customers enjoy Olga's work affordably and with as little additional effort/expense as possible. Please note that this print is also available in 8x10, 11x14, 16x20 & 24x30 canvas prints as well as various wood and metal print sizes. Paper prints come hand signed by the artist.

"Tranquil Grove" is a unique piece in that it's a bit of a return to my roots in Russia; something I haven't done as much in my more recent work. For those who have never been there, Russia is rich with birch trees. When I think of my homeland, I am often reminded of the woodlands in which I played as a child. I can still remember the character of those slim white soldiers through which we ran and dodged in games of tag; or remember standing alone peeling off a few layers of the blackened bark in times of introspection. The birch is a special tree to me. Coming to Canada, and painting Tranquil Grove, has taught me that it's a special tree to many others as well. 

"Tranquil Grove" rich in its depth of color, while remaining subtle in it theme and and impact on a room. It is rarely hung with an accompaniment, but is quite stunning when hung with either of "Deep Down" or "Koi". 

The original piece was done using an acrylic ink on watercolour paper, using a technique that is similar to watercolor but tends to keep more vibrant hews and dries permanently to the paper; enabling Olga to create richly layered pieces that would be impossible with traditional watercolour.
