This elephant mask template transforms fourteen sheets of card into a complete low-poly head that you can actually wear, complete with trunk and ears.

There's a particular satisfaction in building something this big from flat paper: the score line under your thumb, the first fold, and the moment the trunk finally curves into place, bringing the whole animal to life. This mask is perfect for those long, leisurely evenings.

A note from the studio
We are Monika and Krzysztof Smaga, the two pairs of hands behind SmagaPaperwood. We design every template at our own table, and by the time one reaches the shop, we have built it by hand at least three times. If a fold is awkward or a step is unclear, we've already identified it. This elephant went through the same testing process until it sat perfectly on real shoulders.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

A regular home printer (A4 or US Letter)
14 sheets of A4 or US Letter paper or card, 190–280 gsm / 70–110 lb
Scissors or a craft knife (or a cutting machine, if you prefer)
A scoring tool for clean folds
Strong paper glue or a glue gun

Set aside a couple of relaxed evenings for it. It's a satisfying intermediate project — no special skills are needed beyond patience and having a cup of tea nearby. (I've left the assembly time out of the description above — use your own estimate, which is probably 4–6 hours, before publishing.)

HOW TO DOWNLOAD

This is a digital product — nothing will be shipped. As soon as your payment clears, your files will be ready to download from the Purchases section of your Etsy account (You → Purchases and Reviews → Download Files), and we will also email you a link. It's best to download on a desktop or laptop rather than a phone, as the files unzip more reliably there.

Colours on screen may differ slightly from the printed result. This is a template only — paper, glue and tools are not included. As it is an instant download, it cannot be returned. However, if you have any problems opening a file or are unsure about a step, please message us and we will help you quickly — we usually reply within a day.

LICENSING

This template is for your own personal, non-commercial use only. However, we do allow small-scale handmade resale of up to 20 finished pieces per design per year, provided that credit is given to SmagaPaperwood. Sharing the files, mass production or reselling the template itself is not permitted.
