This jewellery set features a ginkgo leaf gemstone necklace and sterling silver interchangeable ginkgo leaf earrings.

Rutilated quartz is a variety of quartz which contains needle-like inclusions of rutile. These inclusions mostly look golden, but they also can be silver, copper red or deep black.

The natural rutilated quartz gemstone in this pendant is hand carved into a beautiful ginkgo leaf. The stone is carved at the front and is smooth and polished at the back. It is mostly clear quartz, with deep black rutile inclusions. The stone is drilled horizontally.

I made a sterling silver bail for this gemstone, soldering the upper loop (for the chain or a cord) and the lower loop (for the stone), to the shell shaped sterling silver component. In a way, the shape of this bail resembles the ginkgo leaf itself. This creates a beautiful mirror image of two ginkgo leaves - the quartz and the silver one.

The pendant is sold either with a chain or with a black leather cord, or both - please choose from the menu.

It looks great on a sterling silver 0.8mm snake chain. Smooth and silky, this chain compliments the shiny silver of the pendant's bail.
It also looks very attractive on a thin (2mm) natural black leather cord. The black cord coordinates with black inclusions of the rutilated quartz, and changes the look of the pendant to a more dramatic. It is finished with sterling silver cord ends, a lobster claw clasp and an extension chain (7 cm).

The complementary sterling silver earrings also feature a ginkgo leaf design and are interchangeable.
They can be worn in two ways:
- as small ginkgo leaves or
- as ginkgo leaves with dangling tassels.
The sterling silver tassels are made of a smooth, flat snake chain with a round ball and a loop on top. They are mirror polished and shiny and measure 40 mm in length. The earrings have an anti-tarnish coating.
