Wise Owl Stain Eliminating Primer is an exceptional-quality, multi-purpose interior/exterior primer, sealer, and stain killer. This versatile primer is outstanding for covering a wide range of stains and providing adhesion on hard-to-stick-to surfaces.

Stain Eliminating Primer is available in Clear, White, Light Gray, Coffe Besn, and Dark Gray, in Quarts and Gallons. It effectively blocks tannins and is a fantastic bonding primer.

FOR USE ON
Drywall, plaster, wood, primed steel, galvanized, aluminum, copper, and tile in dry environments. Our Stain Eliminating Primer also sticks to many plastics, but a test patch is always recommended on plastic surfaces.

WHITE
Best used under whites and light colors to get a solid white coverage.

CLEAR PRIMER
Use this anytime you want to distress and reveal the wood underneath.

GRAY
Gray primer is your best friend for reds, purples, and any dark colors. Using a gray primer rather than a white primer for darks lets you start with a deeper base.

DARK GRAY PRIMER
Great for all your blacks and dark colors to maximize coverage.

COFFEE BEAN
Excellent for bold colors and browns! Preserving bold yellow and orange with better coverage. All while sealing in tannins and stains.

USE
Surface must be clean and free of dirt, grease, grime, wax, and chalk. Remove all loose or flaking paint by scraping, wire brushing, or sanding. Fill all holes, cracks, and any voids or surface imperfections. Stir the product with a circular, lifting motion until it is uniform throughout.

Wise Owl Stain Eliminating Primer may be applied by brush, roller, or spray. For best brush application results, use a quality nylon/polyester brush and a 3/8” nap cover. It may be thinned with up to 10% water for spray application.

Dry to the touch in 1 hour, reapply in 4 hours under normal drying conditions. Sealing some stains may require two coats and a longer reapply window to allow the primer to dry before finishing thoroughly.

To seal in tannin bleedthrough, apply one coat, wait 4 hours, and apply a second coat. Allow the second coat to dry for 12 hours before applying paint. This will allow the primer to seal in pores and prevent bleedthrough.

CLEAN UP
Clean brushes and rollers in soapy water immediately after painting.

NOTES
Priming is essential if you are painting anything white that is a Depression-era piece! I cannot stress this enough. These things will BLEED! Clean well, and always use our stain-eliminating primer before painting these.

Woods that are notorious for bleeding are Mahogany and Cherry.
