1950s Pink Rose Print Dress, Tutu, Sash, Detachable Skirt

Fabulous late 1950's cocktail dress with detachable tutu/apron skirt & long sash. All 3 pieces are splashed with swirling abstract gestural roses in varying shades of pink- from dark raspberry to pale ballet slipper. The skirt and sash are a sheer nylon organza & is a bit more cool in tone- just enough to see a contrast when worn with the the fitted sheath dress- which is made of crisp, silky taffeta and has a nipped waist, bust darts, high neckline, pleats at the hips & kick pleat in back. Paired with the detachable tutu (worn in the back or the front) creates a polished party look, and the matching sash can be tied like a pussy bow at the neck, worn in your hair, or around the waist. Each peice can create an outfit on its own, too- wear the dress simply with a black or white belt, the skirt with black cigarette pants & crop top, or wear the sash with your favorite little black dress. The possibilities are endless!

In very good vintage condition with a few issues. On very close inspection, you can see a slight discoloration in the dress, with variations in the intensity of colors- it is a tad lighter near the top and most obvious under the arms. The under arm seams have been repaired, and one end of the sash has been repaired as well. The shoulders had been taken in, but I gently used a seam riper to let it back out. There had been a brooch at the neckline (as seen in some of the pics) so a couple tiny pin holes can be seen when held to the light.
