Materials: stoneware, glaze

Handbuilt in spotted stoneware using a real hollyhock leaf from my Michigan garden! Hollyhock leaves are wonderful for their depth of texture and interesting jagged edges with imprinting.

This particular piece is about 2 inches tall and about 9 inches wide.

The leaf is first bisque fired to Cone 04, then glazed with a transparent, shiny glaze, then fired to Cone 7. It is oven proof and dishwasher safe. If used in the oven, please start with a cold oven. This particular clay should not be used for food due to the spots in the clay.

No lead, barium or other toxic ingredients are used in the glaze.

And what can you do with this piece? It can be a decoration in itself, a soap dish, candle holder, a spoon rest or anything else creative!
