A pair of sashiko needles.
It is best to have the right needle for the project. It makes it a much more pleasurable experience. Sashiko needles have a large eyelet to thread its thick thread through easily. Its long shaft allows more fabric to be stitched and collected, making it faster and the stitching neater. The point is sharp so it glides easily through thick fabric and they are a strong needle.
These are my favourite go to sashiko needles. I use them a lot for mending as well as multiple sashiko projects.
