Hand dye is different from industry dye or print. It has a look of uneven color but not obvious, that is the most evidence of a plant dye. It is natural and gives us a hand crafted result. Since hand dye is hard to get 100% the same color every time I dye so color may vary a little from the picture. I appreciate when you decide to purchase a hand dyed item you are fully understand the natural of this art.
Indigo Sashiko fabric is 100% cotton, special sashiko jacquard weave.
Indigo color is dyed by hand, 18 time dye process in plant vat.
It is without chemical color fixture, so when you receive the jacket, the color is still fresh, you need to do some treatment to keep it alive.
*** for the first time, before you put it on, soak it into salt water,(approx 3 spoons) 20-30 minutes, then you can wash it with cold water, gentle mode, no detergent, no mix with other garments.
*** for you daily care, you always need to wash it with cold water, gentle mode, low tumble, liquid detergent (no washing powder, no soap) , air dry avoiding directly to the sun.
*** the blue dye will normally bleed out for the first 4-5 times of washing, but it will stay well after. and it will leave the jacket a gorgeous time washed face which we appreciate as the beauty
of true Indigo.
