When you're ready to take your baking to the next level, improving the quality of your vanilla extract is the place to start. This exquisite flavor will add depth to your baking and cause your mouth to do a happy dance. You can also add it to your morning coffee, smoothies, ice cream, and more for the best tasting.... everything.

So what makes this vanilla so much better? The answer is simple: the vanilla beans and the premium alcohols I use. When you use store-bought extract, you're getting low-quality ingredients that are often cut with water, sugar and other additives. All of this detracts from that rich, vanilla flavor, making your baking flat and a little dull. Quality vanilla extract changes that!

To bring you the best flavor, I or premium alcohols. Then I give it time. Vanilla extract needs a minimum of 6 to 12 months to brew, but I don't stop there. I let it mature for at least that long and much of my inventory has brewed even longer than that before it's ready to hit the shelves and I always send my oldest inventory first.

I also leave part of the vanilla bean in each bottle, so you may find tiny black specs: vanilla beans (think vanilla bean ice cream). Your vanilla will continue to mature in your cupboard for up to years to come . If kept in a dark cool cupboard there is basically no expiration date. Just keep the little bean inside the bottle covered with alcohol (you can lay it on its side or add a little alcohol when it gets low) and keep enjoying.

You'll notice that I sell a few varieties of vanilla and may be wondering what the difference between each flavors are: All my flavors are either brewed with Vodka or Bourbon and all flavors use Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Beans and or Tahitian Vanilla Beans. Each flavor brings something different to the table.

Vodka is tasteless and odorless so you get more pure vanilla flavor . Bourbon brings a rich smokiness of the charred oak barrels it is stored in. So please store in a dark cupboard as too much light or heat could certainly affect the extract negatively.

Remember, once you leave the store-bought vanilla scene, you'll find differences in the vanilla flavors based on bean origin and the alcohol used. Everyone's preference is different, so try a few until you find the one that works best for you! After all, what could be better than an excuse to taste-test a variety of baked goods?
