See listing pictures for the typical, everyday Boardmaker (PECS) images that are commonly used. However, I have access to the entire Boardmaker library, so if you don't see it here I can get it. I can also print any image(s) you send me: like of your house, car, therapist, park, etc... Sometimes people prefer to see the real place or thing, rather than the generic image.

After purchase, simply send me a list of the images you would like. If applicable, I will use the gender image you specified during checkout. If there are several different possibilities for an image you would like, I will send you the options to choose from; so please check your messages after purchase periodically :)


Further customize your cards by choosing the options that works best for you. I can put your cards onto a book ring: this makes it easy to take off the cards that you don't need right now, or to easily rearrange the pictures to fit your needs. - Or we can ship them loose along with a sheet of Velcro coins (that you attach) to use with a visual schedule (or any visual support system).


Cards are printed on photo paper, heat laminated with thick 5 mil sheets, cut into either 1.5" x 1.5" or 2.5" x 2.5" squares* & the corners are rounded for safety (*all cards are handmade to order, some slight variations in the size may exist).

4. Cards can be hole punched & mounted on a book ring -OR-
5. No hole punch, shipped loose (in a bag) with a sheet of Velcro coins (that you attach) -OR-
6. Optional purchase of a colored key chain to use with book ring

Why use visual schedules and pictures?

Most of us rely heavily on visual information. Think about all of the visual supports you use every day: calendars, maps, road signs, grocery lists, etc... Visual supports not only keep us on task, they help convey what is expected or needed.

Like my daughter Keira, many children and adults with a cognitive developmental delay seem to respond positively to visual aids. Sometimes people respond better to a visual cue along with a verbal command, rather than to a verbal command alone. It could possibly promote independence and may help reduce anxiety when they can SEE what is to come. Any image that has meaning to the user can possibly help them understand what is going on around them when implemented correctly. (Of course, each person and situation is unique. What works for one, may not work for another).
