This easy pattern is beginner friendly and includes written instructions in 2 weights for a cozy hand-knitted, stretchy hat with a single brim and matching cowl that will brighten your colder days while keeping you toasty warm! It features a modern cluster-rib design knit in either bulky or super bulky yarn for lots of beautiful texture. Beanie can be worn with or without a pom. The reverse side of the pattern is also cute enough to wear inside out, providing several stylish options as you mix and match! Pattern is written in standard US terms and knit in Malabrigo Chunky or Malabrigo Rasta though other equal weight brands can be substituted. It is worked in knit, purl and yarn over stitches in a cluster-rib pattern that knits up quickly. Perfect for the less experienced knitter, this pattern results in a beautiful set that looks more complicated than it actually is! Your family and friends will be impressed. They make the perfect gift!

Easy pattern that you make yourself.

One size fits most, stretching beautifully to fit an 18"-22" head. However, pattern is easily adapted for smaller and larger sizes because of the simple 3 stitch/2 round repeat. Tips to do so are included, including a helpful hat sizing chart. The gauge with US 11/8 mm circular needles is 11 sts/15 rows = 4"/10 cm square (in stocking stitch with Malabrigo Chunky), and with US 13/9 mm circular needles, 8 sts/12 rows = 4"/10 cm square (in stocking stitch with Malabrigo Rasta). Other brands of equal weight can also be used--just check gauge first and adjust cast on count as needed in multiples of 3.

Materials You Will Need:
1 skein each of recommended or equivalent yarn for beanie and cowl.
Bulky beanie uses approximately 80 yds/73 m and cowl approximately 92 yds/84 m.
Super bulky beanie uses approximately 69 yds/63 m and cowl approximately 86 yds/79 m.
