McCoy made only six dresser caddies and they were commissioned to be made for Swank Men's Products Company back in the 1950's. This was the only one ever to have been made with a bank, which makes it even more desirable since both McCoy collectors and bank collectors want to have one as part of their collections. The novelty of this hungover St. Bernard with an ice bag on his head leaning on the keg is as humorous now as it was when created! Dresser caddies were made to hold the contents of a persons pockets at bedtime. Extremely popular in the 1950's they continue to be in high demand and practical. Some of the features of this wonderful vintage piece; you will find an opening in the back to hold your wallet, the top of the keg is inverted to hold change, the stem at the top of the keg is designed to hold your watch. The front also has a nice tray area for other items such as jewelry and keys. The bank was an added design feature which encouraged saving. Has the bank metal turn stopper (which so often are missing). Since all of the McCoy dresser caddies were commissioned by Swank Men's Products Company none of the models were trademarked, however you will find this featured in various McCoy Pottery guides.
