This template is most important for the ergonomics of the shoe last. The basis of the proposaled method - is the foot measurements. This method is universal and suitable for different type of the shoe lasts due definite mathematical relationships between geometrical parameters of the last. The manual includes the scientifically reasonable and practically tested formulas for calculation the main geometric parameters of the last bottom surface; the Table of the basic geometric parameters for such types of the shoes as Elegant man`s shoes, Elegant woman`s shoes, comfort shoes, woman`s sandals, fashionable high-heeled shoes and sport shoes. The tutorial includes also example of step-by-step design the last bottom template.

Plan to read through, identify where the formulas are, to refer back to them. Once you identify what you need to measure, what you need to calculate, and where the formulas are, you get a pretty decent last sole shape for most use cases. It is less suitable for edge cases, but, still acts as a good starting point. Give it a go - it's not expensive,and is a helpful place to start. Just remember - all measurements are in mm, not cm!
I’m always looking to improve my technical knowledge of how shoe design works, and this proved to be a very informative resource. I’m looking forward to applying this knowledge to future shoes.
