This charming blue and white planter is made with terra cotta clay thrown on the potter's wheel. It is fired twice in the kiln to a very high temperature. Before the first firing I paint white slip on one half of the pot and add the blue Italian flower design. When the planter comes out of the kiln a clear glaze is used to cover the blue and white design and it is fired again. I love how the shiny glazed blue and white surface contrasts with the matte unglazed terra cotta clay.

This planter is designed for succulents and and herbs. It measures 4.50 inches at the top diameter x 3.50 inches in height. The planter had a hole for drainage in the bottom and comes with a thrown terra cotta saucer.
