The centerpiece of this necklace is from the 'Poetry' design in Alphonse Mucha's series 'The Arts' in which he shows different representations of the arts. This U.S. made and sterling silver plated design has much detail and it also has dimension, as it's what is referred to in "factory talk" as dapped. Certain areas of the design are raised or in repousse. This gives the deign more dimension and perspective. The centerpiece has all of the soft rounded features that are so easily recognized in all areas of art and design during the Art Nouveau period.

The 'Poetry" centerpiece is newly produced in the U.S. from the same vintage tooling die that has been producing it for many many decades The Mucha design, by itself, measures 1 3/4" long. It is U.S. made and matte sterling silver plated. I then mounted the 'Poetry' design on a U.S. made and matte sterling silver plated beaded edge setting. I wanted to finish the back also and fitted a U.S. made and sterling silver plated ornate oval filigree to it to cover the somewhat deep opening on the back. In the center of the filigree, I added a new Swarovski crystal crystal ab rhinestone that shimmers prettily in the center of the filigree. You can wear the back of the necklace as the front also from time to time. I just think that it gives the completed piece more beauty, and it looks more finished and complete than without it.

I attached a new U.S. made and sterling plated large textured jump ring to the ring at the top of the centerpiece. This ring has 2 purposes. It not only adds a touch more beauty, but it also serves as the "run through" for the chain. The textured ring measures 7/16" outside diameter.

The chain is a new U.S. made tubular matte silver plated wheat design link chain. This very attractive statement chain can easily be removed from the centerpiece so that you can wear it on it's own. Just gently pull the chain through the large textured loop that it runs through. I made an extender on the chain, using the same chain between the round textured jump rings that you will use to lengthen or shorten the chain. The shortest length of the chain is 22". You can clip the silver plated chain into any of the 3 textured rings on the extender to wear the chain at 22", 24" or 26" for more wearing options. If you would like a shorter 20" option for the chain, just send me an Etsy mail right after you purchase, so that I can make the extender to the lengths that you want before I ship it to you. If you would never wear the chain at 26", let me know, and I will use that 2" section of chain to make your extender adjustable at at 20", 22"and 24". If you want it as it is now, the chain will adjust to 22", 24" and 26"
