This is a 3D printed container that is placed in front of the serger or overlocker to catch thread and fabric scraps while you work, reducing the need for constant clean-up.

The thread catcher is made of polylactic acid (PLA), a bioplastic that is derived from renewable resources like corn starch or sugar cane.

Placing it in front of your serger ensures you have easy access to the stitch length knob. It does not attach to the serger, but is shaped to sit snugly in front of it. This allows you to easily move the thread catcher out of the way when you need to open the door and access the inside area of your serger.

Note that all 3D printed thread catchers will fit snugly up to the machine when the cutting knife is in the standard cutting position. The design of Baby Lock sergers is such that the panel with the stitch width and length knobs moves as you change the settings. On the smaller models like the Imagine, Celebrate and Victory, the thread catchers can only be used at certain settings.

*** The Euphoria and Applaud models are coverstitch machines that do not cut off fabric and you therefore do not need a thread catcher for these machines. However, several people have asked me for this because they want a scrap bin nearby for the sake of convenience.
