Salpa is popular as a natural material for linings in belts, watch straps, clutches, wallets, books and other small leather goods.

If applied to finished product, this kind of leather is not to be left "free", i.e. it must be inserted between two other materials, e.g. leather and leather, leather and synthetic material, leather and fabric, etc.. in order to avoid possible product ondulations.
