SALE—REDUCED FROM $199.99 TO $175.00———This is a lovely, vintage 1800s, 3 piece, matched-set of English, pink, luster, teacups & saucers. I am not sure if these are mid-1800s or late 1800s, but in any event a genuine antique over 100 years old. These cups have a finger handle and measure just under 4 inches in diameter and the concave saucer measures 5.75 inches in diameter. Traditionally early, cups & saucers such as these had a bowl shape to collect any spillover which was then drunk directly from the saucer. This set has a floral/chevron print featuring a blue-flower motif in the center of each piece surrounded by pink, geometric banding which is delineated by metallic, pink/copper, luster lines. This prized shine of the pink decoration was achieved by adding gold salts to a pigment which was then hand-painted on the creamware. Very collectible and getting more difficult to find. Start a collection and make an arrangement on a shelf like in the last photo. Spectacular. No items of lusterware were ever exactly alike because they were all hand-painted by individual artisans. Each of these teacups & saucers have the same pattern, but with varying degrees of color. I don’t know if the color variation is original or due to fading over the years. Some of the porcelain is white and some is cream in color with some, very, minor discoloration & crazing on the creamware, but otherwise in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Please be sure before purchasing as this item is NOT returnable. Items shown in last photo are not included in this sale. Check out more vintage china in my ETSY shop.
