Often this is a desired outcome and looks wonderful in gardens, but if you prefer your purchase NOT patina, you have a few options: 1. Spray paint the piece a color of your choice. 2. Clear coat the piece. Clear coat can be found at any hardware store. 3. Rub the metal with a mineral oil, or even olive oil, to keep the moisture from reaching the metal. This will keep the metal shiny. You can rub the oil off until you can’t feel it anymore; it will still be protected. If your purchase develops rust and you want to remove it, simply use steel wool or scotch bright to scrub off the rust!

Custom metal cutout name plates. LASER cut for that clean finish. We can cut mild steel, stainless steel or aluminum. Please see the below directions for submitting an order. If a font is not chosen, we will default to the Viking font.

Please indicate the following in the personalization box:
1) The text you would like on your plaque (capitalization and punctuation will be copied exactly!)
2) Your font choice (in parentheses)
3) If you want these cut horizontally or vertically (in parentheses)
4) If you want mounting holes cut (in parentheses). Options: "No holes", "4 holes" (1 in each corner), "2 holes" (centered on each end). Holes will be 3/16th inch. See link below for optional mounting kit by magnet for invisible mounting without holes.

Example: "Merry Christmas!! (Viking, horizontal, 2 holes)"

Mild steel will patina if left to the elements. Aluminum is very light weight. The smaller plates are not available in mild or stainless steel due to poor cut performance. The smallest plaques are only available in thin aluminum to provide the best quality. All other sizes will be cut from the thickness we believe will provide the best quality for the size and detail of the text. If you have a specific thickness requirement, please inform us.

Different fonts are available. Five of our most commonly requested fonts are shown in the photos: TC LASER Sans, TC LASER Script, Viking, Script MT and Stencil. Please contact us if you have another font in mind, but please do note, the fonts we have listed are easiest and proven to LASER cut with good quality. If you find a font online that you like that is "Pre-stenciled" and available to download, we can use those as well. If you request a font that is not pre-stenciled, we will contact you to charge for additional design time.
