This French sewing pattern catalog for PDF download features sultry styles from Winter 1940/1941. Paris was still the world's fashion capital, and this catalog features the very latest "haute couture" designs.
There are slinky evening gowns, opulent wedding dresses, snappy little coats and suits, and dresses for all times of day. There are skirts and shirts, and ski wear and sportswear. Oh, and lingerie for when you're tired of gadding about and just want to relax!
The patterns are incredibly intricate in terms of cut – this was clearly a high-end service aimed at professional dressmakers. (The catalog offers to express dressmakers a pattern designed to their specified measurements within 24 hours – whew!)
(Just to clarify, in case there is any misunderstanding: this is a catalog which was aimed at presenting different styles to a dressmaker, who would then place an order for a pattern. It does NOT contain any actual sewing patterns themselves, just beautiful pictures. This is also a French publication, so what little text appears on the pages is in French.)
What will you do with your pages? Print them out and use them for scrapbooking, collage and decoupage work. Use them as a fashion reference, put them on your wall. Or simply use them as eye candy on your ipad over coffee...
What you'll receive:
--------------------------
There are five PDFs in this download:
• One PDF of the entire magazine in good quality for your reading convenience – 39 pages (6 colour pages, 33 pages in greyscale).
• Four PDFs containing the magazine pages in top quality. (I’ve split them up into batches of 10, 10, 10 and 9 pages each to ensure you can print in absolute best quality, while keeping each file size manageable.)
Technical specs:
-----------------------
Pages are formatted to size A4 (210mm by 297mm) for you to print at home. (Simply make sure your printer is set to 100% and A4 borderless.)
You can also print on US letter paper (215.9mm by 279.4mm). However, you will need to trim a little white margin off the sides of your printed pages if you want to display them.
I have digitally restored the original pages to remove marks, age spots and scratches. I have not monkeyed about with the colours, which remain the beautiful original tones.
