Traditional hand-stitched leather whippet collar with brass hardware

Custom-made leather whippet collar with solid brass buckle and D ring. Collars are made using a chocolate brown supple veg-tanned leather*. It is a lovely supple leather with a smooth finish. It is an excellent quality leather and has a lovely feel. It has been treated with waxes and oils to produce a beautiful oily or waxy "pull-up" distressed effect which lightens in colour when folded or turned. The natural grain is left intact to show all the growth marks and unique character to give a distinctive antique look.

* also now available in black and tan - please note, the tan is much more prone to picking up marks due to the "pull-up" nature of the leather, but it is still a lovely leather. Please add a note when you order.

All our dog collars are individually hand stitched. The edges, including the inner edges, have been carefully bevelled and burnished so that there are no rough parts that might irritate your dog or catch on hair. The leather is soft and supple to provide additional comfort for your dog.

These simple yet stylish dog collars come in a range of sizes to suit most dogs. If the size you want isn’t listed please do request a custom order. We can usually turn these around in 1-2 weeks.

The thickness of the centre part of the collar is 2inch (50mm) but it can be made thicker or thinner - please add a note when you order. All whippet collars come with a 3/4inch (20mm) buckle as standard, but we do have other size buckles available so do please ask if you would like a larger or smaller one.

How to ensure you order the correct size:
All sizes quoted are neck sizes – ie the circumference of your dog’s neck. This can be measured using a soft tape measure, or by measuring your dog’s existing collar - see photo. Measure from the most used hole, to the end of the leather where it goes round the buckle (ie to the end of the leather if the collar is laid flat – or to the bar across the middle of the buckle).
