These little dishes were made by rolling out a slab of porcelain and slumping it over a mold that I made. Each one is handmade, and a little different from the next. I like using these for jewelry holders next to my bed, but they also work great as a soap dish, snack dish, or even a sushi or wasabi dish. They are about 4.5 x 3.5 inches wide by 1/2 inch tall.

All of the crystalline glazes that I use are original glazes invented myself. Each crystalline glazed piece is unique in that they cannot be duplicated. The crystals are never the same from one piece to another.

I use high fire porcelain, and fire to a peak temperature of 2350°F – aka cone 11 for you pottery people. What this means is that the porcelain is fully vitrified and water tight even without the glazes. Because of the way that I fire and the glazes that I use, all of my work is fully functional – water tight, lead free, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe.
