SIZING: This handmade beanie fits below the ears but the border can easily be turned up to fit above the ear. It comes in only one size which is a Medium (head circumference of approximately 20-1/2"- 22" as it's too hard to keep all sizes in stock. (I can accommodate slight size changes if I have enough yarn on hand.) This beanie may feel snug at first but will conform to your head size as it will loosen quickly with wear to fit comfortably. Please don't stretch it out beyond your head size as there is no elasticity in 100% cotton and it will remain stretched out. Slight stretching out with hands inside the beanie should be OK. This beanie is suitable for all seasons. Cool in summer and warm in winter. Great to sleep in when hair loss is an issue whether it's the summer AC or winter drafts. I gently wash my cotton beanie by hand and air-dry (laying it on top of the dryer is what I like to do). Don't stretch it out when wet! Manufacturer of yarn also says it is ok to machine wash and dry. I've done both. Machine washing and heat drying will tighten up the cotton fibers some (akin to shrinking). This is all characteristic of any 100% cotton. Handwashing reduces fading or slight fuzzies from occurring, allowing the beanie to look newer longer.
