How much/how long will it take for my item to be shipped?

All items will be shipped from Sydney, Australia in a timely manner. The delivery cost for your item/s depends on the weight of your order and the country of shipping. We ship to the address listed on your etsy account, unless you provide a different one. You will be provided with a tracking number. As we only list items already in our current physical inventory, we endeavour to ship items within 2-3 business days. Domestic parcels take about a week, other countries are longer. If the item requires a fast turnaround time on delivery, please contact us promptly before or at the time of purchase to ensure we have adequate time. Please make sure that your delivery address is correct, as we take no responsibility for an incorrect address.

I haven't received my item yet, what do I do?

We ship using Australia Post, and when placing your order, you can choose a variety of shipping time frames. We do not take responsibility for damage or loss due to a shipping mishap, and shipping costs will not be refunded for uncollected items. Once the package has been handed over to Australia Post, we take no responsibility for lost, stolen or delayed shipping/waiting times that may affect the receipt of the package. For recovery of expenses in these circumstances, you will need to make a claim with your local postal service. Delivery time may vary depending on specific customs clearance processes.

Can I change my address?

If you would like us to ship to a different address, please ensure that you contact us promptly before or directly after purchase with the email subject: ‘Change of address - [inset your name]’, so that we have adequate time to update your details and ensure your item/s are sent to the correct address. We do not post to PO Boxes.

Can I get my item/s express posted?

If you want an item with express shipping when it is not offered in the listing, you will need to pay the difference in shipping price. If the item is a gift and requires a fast turnaround time on delivery, please contact us promptly before or at the time of purchase with the email subject: ‘Express Postage - [inset your name]’ to ensure we have adequate time to post it out promptly.

To ensure your item is the correct fit, please compare the listing measurements and your own measurements (as detailed in the listing). If you are unsure about the size or appearance of an item, we will gladly take additional measurements and answer any detailed questions you may have.

This item isn't the *exact* colour I ordered?

Absolutely Frivolous aims to display our products as accurately as possible, however resolution, printing methods and screen settings have the ability to affect how an item is displayed. This means that the accuracy of colours through an online purchase cannot be guaranteed. If you have any questions or problems with your order, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly! We will endeavour to email you back within 48 hours, and would much rather be given the chance to rectify an issue that you may have, rather than receive negative feedback.

I've changed my mind, can I return my item/s?

The creators at Absolutely Frivolous pride ourselves on luxurious designs and quality craftsmanship. Once these have been purchased, all sales are final. Kindly note that we don't accept returns, exchanges or cancellations based on change of mind. Absolutely no exceptions will be made, so please choose your purchases carefully. Unfortunately we cannot process international returns and exchanges at this point in time – all international sales are final. In the *rare* case of an approved return for shop credit, registered shipment costs will be the buyer's responsibility both ways. Your item must be returned within 14 days and be in brand new and re-sellable condition.

What if my item is faulty?

If an item is assessed and considered faulty, we will offer a number of solutions. These include: 1) a repair of the product (where possible), 2) a replacement product, or 3) a refund of the original purchase amount. Please be aware that in the case of a refund, these can take up to 5 working days to show on your account due to varying processing times between payment providers.

I have provided supporting documentation for an approved return, now what?

In the case that you are able to fulfil all of the return requirements, contact us directly on etsy with the email subject: ‘Returns - [inset your name]’, with your order number, the piece/s you wish to return and why, so that we can reply to your issue promptly. Please ensure that you provide us a return address. You will need to include your return parcel’s article ID, and we recommend taking a picture with your phone and attaching it to the returns email. This must be prepaid and traceable to ensure a safe and documented delivery. Absolutely Frivolous takes no responsibility for missing incoming deliveries of a return. Original shipping charges are non-refundable and charges for the returned item are the responsibility of the customer.

Mummy Earrings by Absolutely Frivolous, Antique and Vintage Jewelry Designers

Walk like an Egyptian with these extremely elegant, truly unique and completely limited ‘one of a kind’ pair of vintage Egyptian Revival earrings!

They come with vintage West German and Czech sage green glass scarabs, vermeil castings of a lotus and a large gold tone mummy!

These vintage green earrings would also make *you* the perfect embellishment for any sort of special occasion such as a birthday party, gala event, photo shoot, cocktail party, formal event or on the red carpet! They would also be suitable to wear as part of a Cleopatra costume for a Halloween, fancy dress or Ancient World party, or as part of a flapper costume for a 1920s party, Art Deco party or Gatsby wedding!

They contain very old and extremely collectible vintage Czech and West German glass and brass elements original to the period - to the point where most designer's would only use one or two of these in any given piece because of their cost, quality and rarity.

This pair of long dangle teal earrings were inspired the Neiger Brothers and the techniques and designs emanating from the Czech Republic in the 1930s. They were also influenced by a major period of Western obsession with Egyptian antiquities - often referred to in the scholarly tradition as 'Egyptomania' - when in 1922 the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb saw Egyptian influences pervade modern culture. These motifs became an integral part of the semiotic language of Art Deco; a style which originated in France in the 1910s and dominated the decorative arts in Western Europe and the United States until the mid 1930s.

Starting at the top of each earring is a very high quality 24k gold plated lever back finding from Israel with a gold tone claw setting. Placed inside is an an absolutely gorgeous original vintage Czech oval sage green glass scarab with gold highlights that really make the design *pop!*

Dangling from this are two gold tone jewellery connecters that have been forged with a very pretty starburst design, and which connect to an absolutely stunning and heavily gold plated wing sterling silver casting of a lotus design (which was personally re-cast from a very old Czech stamping). This casting is gold vermeil (a/f); it has been gold plated with 18k gold with 925 sterling silver as the base metal. This means that it has a thicker layer of gold than normal gold plating.

Placed on top is a larger original vintage sage green pharaoh glass cabochon from West Germany with gold highlights, and dangling from this is an extremely beautiful original vintage large gold tone mummy stamping from the United States, with highly detailed winged scarab and other interesting geometric designs. All of these components have been linked together to achieve a very aesthetically pleasing dangly effect as you walk!

The vermeil casting and mummy stamping on each earring have also been finished with a super pristine matte gold patina.

Dimensions: The height of each earring is 133.45mm/5.253 inches, the widest part (middle scarab stamping) is 33.00mm/1.299 inches and the bottom mummy dangle is 65.34mm/2.572 inches. The total weight (combined) comes to 33 grams. They are *much* lighter than they look!
