What is matted vs. unmatted?

Matted photos include, an artist recommended, white/color border that gives visual space around a piece of artwork and bring focus to the art. Matting also gives a more elegant look when framing a piece of artwork. Unmatted photos, do not include any additional matting. These are "photo only" option and you can decide on matting/style for yourself.

Custom and personalized orders

What you are seeing is what's called a watermark. This watermark is displayed on images to protect the artwork. Images will not be printed with a "SAMM Photography" watermark, but may include my personal signature.

Is there any variation with what I see online, and what I receive?

Please note final print colors may vary depending on your monitor, tablet or photo screen settings. Images may be cropped, depending on the size ratio you choose. Photos will be printed with acid free quality luster, matte or glossy photo paper, with the best finish that I see fit for the artwork. How do you know what size mat you will need?

Matting is added to give some visual space between the frame and the artwork. It can give a more professional look to a photograph. When sizing a mat, you will be looking for two measurements on your mat. One will be for the opening of the mat where you photo will go, and one will be for the size of the frame your mat will fit in. For example, if you purchase a 5x7 photo it will fit in the opening of an 8x10 mat. Below is what a standard photo would be sized up too. 5”x7” to 8”x10” 8”x10” to 11”x14” 11”x14” to 16”x20” 9”x12” to 12”x16” 8”x12” to 12”x16” or 12”x18” Keep in mind, photos that don't fall under standard sizes will need to have a custom mat.

Does my purchase include matting and framing?

Listing photos may be displayed in a matting/frame or in a room setting to give you a suggestion on how the image may look framed or matted. High quality photos and canvas art do not include matting, framing, room decor or furniture unless otherwise noted. Final print colors may vary depending on your monitor, tablet, or phone screen settings. Contact me to check availability for sizes/materials that are not currently offered.

PHOTOGRAPHS are printed on high quality E-Surface photo paper or with Canon archival inks on archival paper. Both techniques provided life like tones, and archival quality and are guaranteed up to 100 years without fading.

GALLERY WRAPPED CANVAS use a high end giclee printing process on Certified Archival canvas and are wrapped around wooden 1.5” stretcher bars. Exposed edges reflect a slightly blurred variation of the print. High quality canvas comes ready to hang.
