Highlights
Twelve 1 lb bags of sterilized rye berry grain spawn, hydrated and ready to inoculate. A mid-size pack for growers who run several bags a month.
What you get:
• 12 individual 1 lb bags (about 1 quart of grain each), 12 lb total
• Hydrated and sterilized
• Self-healing injection port on every bag
• 5-micron filter patch on every bag
Sterilized rye berry grain spawn, ready to inoculate straight out of the box -- no cooking, soaking, or sterilizing required.
To use: inject your liquid culture through the injection port and allow the grain to colonize. Once colonized, this grain spawn can be mixed into bulk substrate, used for grain-to-grain transfers, or combined with other Out-Grow products to build your own grow kit.
Storage: for best results use within a few weeks of receipt; if you need to hold it, keep bags in their original sealed packaging in a cool, dry place.
Why ready-made grain spawn: preparing grain at home means soaking, simmering, draining and pressure-cooking it, and one slip can contaminate the whole batch. These bags arrive done, so you go straight to inoculation.
Why Out-Grow: we have prepared mushroom substrates and cultures since 2009 — 27,000+ Etsy sales and a 4.8-star rating from 4,700+ reviews.
Pairs well with:
