This little axolotl is a fun addition to your wooden toy collection. Wooden animals are great for inspiring imaginative play and sparking curiosity. Use it to create elaborate small world scenes, put it on a Waldorf nature table, or use it as a super cute shelf decoration. It makes a unique cake topper that can be played with once the party is over. It’s full of open-ended possibilities, and makes a great gift for animal lovers of all ages.

-- DETAILS --

+ Each of my wooden animals starts as my original hand-drawn patterns. They are all crafted by me in small batches in my tiny sunporch studio. I design them with a simple, modern aesthetic while still staying true to the nature and features of each individual animal. I make my animals with intention, love, and the littlest bit of magic.

+ I cut all of my toys from sustainably harvested poplar wood, sand them super smooth, and round all of the edges so that they are comfortable to hold in your hands.

+ I wood burn the simple details, and lightly paint each one so that the beautiful wood grain remains visible beneath the paint.

+ I use my homemade wood polish made of organic unrefined jojoba oil and plant wax.

This axolotl is a joy to behold. Adorable and very well-made, with soft colours and a smooth texture to the wood. I consider it a little piece of art. Quick shipping and lovely packaging as well. (Pictured with the red eft I ordered along with it.)
