This is a wooden work of art based off of a design I first created in pencil and ink and then digitized. For this South Dakota State design, I included the following state symbols: Coyote, Ring-Necked Pheasant, and Walleye (fish) set in front of a landscape featuring the Badlands National Park. I varied the wood to create a design that alternates light and dark wood (using hickory and walnut plywoods).
I used a Glowforge laser printer to cut my design out of wood. I then puzzled the pieces together, and glued them down onto a larger South Dakota backing.
Essentially, I cut two different types of wood with the design and then mix and match them together.
There are currently two size options:
Medium- 10.5" x 5.75" x .5"
Large- 16.25" x 10.75" x .5"

I make all of my items at my home in Maine (when I am not teaching art to high school students or chasing after my sons). All of my items are "small-batch" items made one at a time.
