Highlights

Please note that tapestries sold by our company are never printed. The image is created by interlacing yarns of different types and colors. We sell high quality woven tapestry wall hangings made in Europe.

This is tapestry reproduction of the famous fresco from circa 1420 by Giacomo Jaquerio. The original is located in the great hall at the Castello Della Manta (La Manta Castle) in Piedmont, Italy. The tapestry shows 6 figures that represent the legends of the Middle Ages, for example, Godfrey of Bouillon who led the first crusade (1096-1099). Above them, their heraldic shields are depicted carefully fastened to the trees with leather straps. The figures are depicted on a narrow strip of ground covered with flowers and luxuriant vegetation, evocative of the mille-fleurs (thousand flowers) style of the middle ages. True work of art!

Dimensions of the tapestry: 58" x 85";
Jacquard woven in Europe;
Cotton & Polyester blends;
Fully lined & finished with rod sleeve.

This tapestry will make your home more unique. Great addition to any tapestry collection!

Tapestry is a form of weaving that produces a textile with clearly defined and detailed images, and is the principal means of creating pictures through weaving.

The tapestry technique is distinctive in that the wefts (threads on bobbins) are woven between the fixed warp threads only as far as each color is required, rather than running all the way across the work from selvedge to selvedge.

The greatest advantage of tapestry is its quality. Tapestries are renowned for their decorative appeal, rich texture, strength, durability, and resistance. Another significant benefit of real woven tapestries is their resistance to fading. The use of colored threads woven together ensures that the colors remain vibrant for a longer period of time than those in printed tapestries.

From the Middle Ages, tapestries have been regarded as desirable luxuries and collectable items to be displayed on special occasions. Kings and nobles often transported their wall tapestries with them when they moved from one castle to another, for reasons of comfort and prestige.
